Feline cuddles and playtime come to Drayton Valley

January 22nd, 2024

Cat Suzy Q soaks up the caresses of resident Ester.

“Can we get a cat?” When Points West Living Drayton Valley resident Lloyd asked this, a plan quickly jumped into action.

First, a vote amongst residents verified that cats would be a welcome addition to a couple of the cottages. Second, the community reached out to the local For All Animals Rescue Society; over the years, operator Crystal Gray has regularly brought adoptable animals over to visit the residents. This time, could the community foster any cats?

The answer was yes, and the community soon welcomed two feline friends.

When Zoey arrived on January 4, 2024, she joined the first-floor cottage and quickly settled in. Within two hours of being dropped off, she made her way to Lloyd’s room, where the two curled up in the recliner and had a nap.

On January 9, Scaredy arrived, too—soon redubbed Suzy Q by resident Adriana. An incredibly friendly cat, residents fell in love with her immediately.

“The amount of joy that Zoey and Suzy Q have brought to our residents is indescribable,” said Lydia Carter, General Manager.
