Colourful fabric wreaths say “Hello Spring!”

March 23rd, 2022

Residents at Points West Living Wainwright welcomed spring by creating colourful fabric wreaths. The wreath are each unique and will adorn the doors of residents’ suites.

Promise and delight of spring

“The fabric strips in lovely pastel hues were cut ahead of time, so all that needed doing was tying them onto wire frames,” says recreation coordinator Shauna Lee Carlson. “Then we dressed up our creations with birdies, eggs, and butterflies; along with a "Hello Spring" greeting to welcome spring and all the promise and delight it holds for our senses.”

Kind gestures at every turn

“I am surrounded with kind gestures at every turn,” Shauna Lee adds. “Independent residents lending a hand to make sure everyone took home a wreath, family members helping, a resident sweeping up afterwards to name a few.”

“Everyone was pleased to go home with something to hang on their door,” she says, “and I look forward to seeing the lovely colours whenever I pass by, and remembering this pleasant afternoon.”
