Community recognition for resident
on her 100th birthday

Congratulations to Jean (Handyside) Chapman who recently celebrated her 100th birthday at Points West Living Stettler. She received notes from Queen Elizabeth, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the Governor General, and the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. 

Community service

Jean also received a special certificate from the Town of Stettler, presented by Deputy Mayor Gord Lawlor, recognizing her many years of community service. Jean was born and raised in Erkskine and moved the 10 kilometres to Stettler when she was 20 years old, where she has lived ever since.

Lots of well-wishers, and cupcakes

Her PWL birthday celebration included lots of relatives, friends, and cupcakes. General Manager Carol Dyck says, "Many community members including lots of friends and an extended group of family members came to help her celebrate this milestone which was held in our conference room here at PWL Stettler."

The event was covered by the local newspaper, the Stettler Independent (article).
