Birthday celebration bubbles with laughter

Points West Living Cochrane resident Alda Johnson was prepared to party when she gathered with fellow residents recently to celebrate her 90th birthday. She arrived at exercise class kitted out in birthday regalia, and had stashed special party favours into her purse.

Dancing and singing

As is a PWL Cochrane tradition, recreation aide Jill Cucheron invited the birthday girl to choose the music for the exercise class. Alda made her choices, and the class danced and sang along to A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts, She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain, and PWL Cochrane’s favorite happy song, Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake.

Lots of laughter

“At Coffee Chat after exercises, Alda surprised us with bubbles!” says Jill. “Alda’s granddaughter had given her a dozen or so mini bubble blowers, which she pulled from her purse and happily shared among the crowd.”

“We all felt like kids again, blowing bubbles, trying the pop them, and laughing together in between!”
