High rollers come out to PWL Red Deer Casino Night

February 25th, 2020

Residents at Points West Living Red Deer play an active role in creating the community’s monthly activity calendar, and the top choice for February was a Casino Night. With three games on the go, great food, drinks, and prizes, the evening lived up to its billing.

Chips for prizes

“We had three games bustling with excitement,” says recreation coordinator Alyssa Seifried, “Blackjack, Roulette and Dice Toss. At each game station the goal was to receive as many poker chips as possible and residents could cash in their chips on a selection of edible prizes.”

High bids and side gambling

“High bids, side gambling, and a lot of fun competitive talk took place throughout the evening,” Alyssa says. “It was so nice to see all the residents enjoying something new in the evening time. Marjorie Wojciechowski said this was the most fun she has had since moving into the community. And Vera Wells said at the beginning of the night that she had never gambled before, yet she won the highest amount of chips (24) by the end of the night!”

Such as blast

The kitchen team prepared delicious nachos and ‘boneless’ chicken wings, served with a cold near-beer. “We had such a blast during this event that we’ve already started to plan our next Casino Night.”
