Prizes and surprises at PWL Slave Lake
Halloween party

November 6th, 2018

A few masks, a witch’s hat, and some silly headbands gave every resident at Points West Living Slave Lake the chance to be in disguise for a few moments during the community’s Halloween party. Most employee care partners wore their costume for the day, and had a friendly competition going for best costume.

Haloween theme

The party began with family and friends joining residents and care partners in the decorated multipurpose room for a for a Halloween themed lunch. On the menu were perogies, cabbage rolls, sausages, dessert and fruit, followed by crafts and cookies for the children present.

Deliciously scary

Top prize for the ‘scariest costume’ went to cook Roland Salmorin, and if there’d been a prize for the scariest food, he’d have won that too for his delicious ghost-topped brownies (photo). The prize for the most ‘original costume’ went to Health Care Aide Caitlyn Roy, who was dressed as an avatar dream walker from the movie Avatar (photo).

Recreation coordinator Mailyn Fornoles won the ‘sexiest costume’ award for her witch attire – including a broom. To make sure residents were able to participate in the costume fun, Mailyn had bought a witch’s hat, masks and silly headbands for them to wear in photos.
