Pumpkin decorating at PWL Slave Lake uses a fresh Mr. Potato Head technique

November 3rd, 2017

Remember Mr. Potato Head, the plastic toy you could decorate with mixed up facial features? Well, the folks at Points West Living Slave Lake decided to avoid the mess and smell of carving pumpkins and used pressed-on features to decorate their creations. The results were pretty scary…

“The residents really enjoyed the non-traditional way of decorating pumpkins and had so much fun choosing where to place the pieces to bring the pumpkins to life,” says recreation team member Hannah Kaup. “It did not take as much time as the traditional method, giving us time to drink tea and coffee and enjoy a snack, reminiscing about past Halloweens and how we like to celebrate. There were stories of residents’ children trick-or-treating and the amount of candy we love to eat at this time of year. It was a great time!”
